**Pot Pie Italiano**

**Ingredients:**

– 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
– 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
– 1 bell pepper, diced
– 1 cup frozen peas
– 1 cup carrots, diced
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 cups chicken broth
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

**Instructions:**

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

4. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, mushrooms, bell pepper, peas, and carrots to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables have softened.

5. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables in the skillet and stir to coat. Cook for an additional minute to remove the raw flour taste.

6. Slowly pour in the chicken broth while stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Add the heavy cream, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

7. Return the cooked sausage and chicken to the skillet, mixing everything together. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat.

8. Divide the mixture evenly among individual ramekins or pour into a large baking dish.

9. Cut the puff pastry into squares large enough to cover the tops of the ramekins or baking dish. Place the puff pastry over the filling, pressing the edges down to seal.

10. Brush the tops of the puff pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

11. Make a few small slits on top of the puff pastry to allow steam to escape during baking.

12. Place the ramekins or baking dish on a baking sheet to catch any drips, then transfer to the preheated oven.

13. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden brown.

14. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy your delicious Pot Pie Italiano while it’s warm and comforting, filling your home with the aromas of a cozy Italian kitchen. This satisfying dish is perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends. Customize it by adding your favorite Italian herbs or cheeses to make it your own. Buon appetito!
