Santa Face Cake

Ingredients:
– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Red food coloring
– Black decorating gel
– White frosting
– Mini marshmallows
– Red candy buttons
– Mini chocolate chips

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a round cake pan. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

2. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.

5. Once the cake has cooled, use a serrated knife to level the top of the cake to create a flat surface. Cut out a small triangle from one side of the cake to form Santa’s hat.

6. Tint a portion of the white frosting red using the red food coloring. Frost the entire cake with the remaining white frosting, smoothing it out with a spatula.

7. Place the red frosting into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe a line across the bottom of the cake to create Santa’s hat. Then, pipe small lines on the sides of the cake to create Santa’s rosy cheeks.

8. Use the black decorating gel to pipe two eyes and a mouth on the cake to create Santa’s face. Place a mini marshmallow on each side of the hat for pom poms.

9. Add red candy buttons down the front of the cake for Santa’s suit buttons. Place mini chocolate chips above the beard area for the eyes.

And there you have it—your very own Santa Face Cake! This delightful dessert is not only a treat for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes. It’s the perfect centerpiece for any holiday celebration, bringing a touch of whimsy and joy to your baking. Enjoy creating this festive masterpiece and watch it bring smiles to faces young and old alike this holiday season.
